The economy is an important aspect of the game-play. The major currency in the Pirates of the Burning Sea is called "gold doubloon". PotBS gold doubloons are the driving force of the game's economy. Players use PotBS doubloon as an intermediary item in exchange for goods and services. The Burning Sea's economy is run by players who produce and trade goods ranging from raw resources, ingots, wine, ship parts and cannons. Or they sell them for Burning Sea gold doubloons. What you can produce and are able to sell for valuable gold pieces depends on where you are located. Each port is controlled by one of the selectable countries and has different resources. However, it is possible to attack other ports and gain control of their resources.
